We Identify Fire-Damaged Products
When the Label Is Gone.

Independent product identification to support

subrogation and product liability.

Product Identification and Analysis (PIA) provides independent forensic identification of fire-damaged consumer products when labels, nameplates, serial numbers, and documentation have been destroyed. Our work supports subrogation screening, product liability litigation, and early claim decision-making—without crossing into fire origin & cause or defect analysis.

What We Do

  • We identify damaged evidence in support of subrogation and product liability cases
  • We provide an initial assessment and if we feel there is no chance of making an identification, we take a small assessment fee and refund the balance.
  • We use a tiered pricing structure to provide the level of service and products suitable to your needs

How We Do It

  • We have thousands of exemplar items in our warehouse.
  • We use state-of-the-art 3D scanning technology and artificial intelligence tools custom-designed by our engineers for fast, accurate identification.
  • We have a proprietary database with information critical to making accurate identifications.

Services Overview

3-Tiered Service Model

PIA uses a three-tiered service model with options for extra analysis. The model includes a fixed-fee first tier to make budgeting easier. It provides an early, informed decision point before continuing with further analysis.

Tier one focuses on answering the question: “Can this product be identified by manufacturer and possibly model family?”

Tier 2 is used for more significant damage, but recoverable construction features remain. More complex systems are set in place to help identify the product(s).

Tier 3 is used for litigation services. An example could be when a manufacturer disputes product attribution.
